A global story
Wherever you are in the world, listen to the story, video your retelling of it, then share.

At the end of the project I
will edit all the contributions
into one collaborative story.

Well done!

You have done your bit to keep the tradition of storytelling alive.

My name is Gemma Hannah, and I am a Storyteller. I’d like you to take part in my exciting experiment to find out if the ancient art of storytelling can be shared online and reach a whole new audience.

You don’t have to be a brilliant storyteller to take part. Just watch the video and download the written version, then film yourself telling all or just a small part of the story. Every contribution is valuable. At the end of the challenge I will edit together all the different voices to make one groundbreaking collaborative story.

I believe that the internet has the power to connect people, wherever they are. Let’s join together, tell a great tale, and keep the tradition of storytelling alive. Are you up for the challenge?

The Tale
I’ve chosen ‘Anansi and the Box of Stories’ for the challenge. It’s a traditional West African tale which describes the right of passage of master storyteller and notorious trickster Anansi the Spider on his quest to get stories.

This tale is perfect for releasing your inner storyteller.
